This was a pleasurable experience. Being in a new country that I have wanted to visit for a long time. Getting used to new things like sharing a little beautiful house with seven other people you have never met before.

It wasn't just about the work experience it was definately about personal growth. The intence physical work was totally payed back by new knowledge and good vibes. I had the good fortune to be part of a very close-knit group which, although tired was always ready to keep going. I didn't know what to expect from this first volunteering experience but it was definately good and I would gladly do it again.

Joining the SCV was the best experience during my studentexchange and one of the best in my life!

Having the opportunity to learn and help conserve nature was incredible, even more with the opportunity to see all the different landscapes that we saw and enjoy them.

My stay in Sweden was really nice, the summer really invites you to enjoy the lakes, rivers and go hiking and camping. Doing all these things during the weekend or after work was also really worth it.

Living with the other volunteers was also really good. Being able to learn their culture and habits was interesting and cool. Plus at the end of the program you have a new group of friends.

Sweden and SCV has been an amazing experience. The was varied and we always knew the purpose of what we were doing, how it would help. We were allowed to go at our own pace but also challenged enough.

I feel I have learnt more in this month about nature conservation and Swedish culture than I would learn in a year at home. The group of volunteers was diverse and we felt like a team almost immediately. I am really glad to have met them and learnt from them. I would recommend SCV to anyone with an interest in conservation and hope to be able to return someday.

Living and working here in Sweden as a volunteer has fulfulled my expectations and many more besides. We got to experience the pathless solitudes of the forest, the pines swaying in the morning winds and the warm campfires glowing in the evening half-light. And got to help and to conserve nature, species and aid local people's fight for nature. We learned things we never knew before and have come to see things in a new light. The call of birds, and of wild animals like moose and bear.

Often the work was tough, the midges in legions. But that's what made it rewarding and we knew it was worthwile. In our free time we did not linger, but explored the woodland vastness or descended down northern rivers in canoes, camping by the shore. At the end of the month, the open road calls, but if the wilderness beckons once again, I would surely answer the call.

My two weeks volunteering at Scandinavian Conservation Volunteers were some of the best in my life. The combination of work and education while out in the field made every day different and therefore fresh and interesting which in turn meant that I looked forward to the next day with anticipation rather then dread as could be when there are days of manual labour in close succession.

The work itself while tiring at times provided me and the rest of the group with a strong sense of satisfaction when complete. Clearing fields of invasive species that compete with native ones remain for me one of the clearest examples of how satisfying the work is by the end of each day. These fields, once covered in invasive flowers was by the end of our work day a field where native species coud now prosper.

Living together with volunteers of different nationalities was also an eye-opening experience and overall I grew as a person. By the end of our first day in Sweden we'd all become friends.

What struck me the most was the level of organisation Sebastian, the project manager and all the others who helped us along the way put into making sure that we would learn, work and enjoy ourselves during our stay.

My stay with SCV has surpassed my expectations tenfold. I did not enter with many expectations as every volunteer program varies but the SCV was outstanding. The accomodation was brilliant and tailored to each participant.

Amentities such as food and cleaning facilities were well thought out. Supervision of volunteers was amazing with each participant being considered and catered to. With acceptance and respect for personal limits.

Encouraging, reasonable, fair, considerate, realistic, flexible and generous are but a few words that could describe our leader and supervision of us over this month. If anything we'd all like to be able to give back more to him. Thank you Seb!
